About the Game:
Set in the silent film era, a one-man show star must impress his live studio audience with all the forms of slapstick he has mastered over the years.
As GGJ 2024 project, our team tasked ourselves with the following challenges:
-Only use open source software
-All sounds are made by mouth (Mouthing Off)
-Game can be played with one hand (Lunch Special)
-Steamboat Willy style (Full Steam Ahead)
-Keep going even if it looks bad (Never give up)





My tasks:
Concept:
After setting up a scene, an old life-studio-audience setting, the various character designs were voted on. The same procedure was used to decide which elements should be realised and in front of which background the silent actor should perform.



Polishing:
After rough concepts, the polished and stylized assets were created.




Animation:
The protagonist was brought to life by frame-by-frame animation in the form of a sprite sheet.
