About the Game:

Set in the silent movie era, a one man showstar needs to impress his live- studio audience with all forms of slapstick he mastered over the years.

As GGJ 2024 project, our team tasked ourselves with the following challenges:
-Only use open source software
-All sounds are made by mouth (Mouthing Off)
-Game can be played with one hand (Lunch Special)
-Steamboat Willy style (Full Steam Ahead)
-Keep going even if it looks bad (Never give up)


My tasks:

Concept:
After setting on a scene, an old life-studio-audience setting, the multiple character drafts were voted on. Same procedure for which items to implement, and in front of what environment the silent actor would have to perform.

Polishing:
After rough concepts, the polished and stylized assets were created.

Animation:
Since the movement should fit the choosen old-timy-cartoon-style, the protagonist came to live via frame by frame animimations, in sprite-sheet form.
